Sahara supremo Subrata Roy get arrested arrested on Friday as he surrender to police by saying that he is not absconding and was ready to “unconditionally follow” the court’s direction.
This event happens following ways:-
On 26th Feb Supreme court issued a Non bailable warrant against Subarata Roy for not appearing in front of court for case against two of his co.s for returning 20,000 crore rs. of investors. Supreme court issued Non bailable warrant against Subrata Roy for March 4.
He will remains in custody with Uttar Pradesh police’s custody till March 4.
Ram Jethmalani Senior abvocate in Defence of Shahra Cheif on 26th Feb 2014 informed the court that he has been unable to appear because of the ill health of his 95-year-old mother.
His appeal to the Supreme Court to allow him “to be with his ailing mother under house arrest till March 3, 2014” was turned down.
Shahra Chief in his defense told that:-
1. They had to to pay only 2000 crore not 20000 Crore.
2. They had given all original Vouchers, Receipts and documents containing details of Investors.
3. They had deposited 5120 Crore rs. with SEBI 16 months back but they disburse only 1 crore till date.
4. SEBI said that they had to deposit Rs. 20000 Crore with them and they will verify all documents related to investors if they were found to be just factitious accounts then amount will move to Government account, But till date they even not verify 1% of all documents.
