IBIBO Group Buys YourBus.in an Online Tracking Service for Bus


IBIBO Group Buys YourBus.in

Ibibo Group which is owned by Naspers  an Internet and Media based company of  South Africa  is spreading its footprints in Online travel business by buying 51% stake in YourBus.in.
YourBus.in is an online bus tracking and analytic platform. 
Transaction amount is yet not announced.

They acquired RedBus.in for USD 138 Million in last year June from founders of RedBus.in, Phanindra Sama and Charan Padmaraju , the engineers from BITS Pilani.
YourBus.in is founded by  BITS-Pilani graduates  Rajesh Mallipeddi and Satya Padmanabham in 2011.
This is second time that Ibibo buys company founded by BITS-Pilani Graduates.
YourBus.in is GPS based tracking Application that is currently functioning in 200 buses majority of them in South India, this service  is basically established to solve problems of both Bus passengers and Bus operators.
Bus passengers can access exact location of bus on their cellphones and online and also they can check delay and time of departure of buses.
Ibibo will integrate both of its Gobibo.com and RedBus.in with this YourBus.in. YourBus.in is already working with Redbus.
YourBus.in will enhance experience for Bus Travelers.  YourBus.in also provide SMS updates for the same.
 Bus Operators can also track their buses and even get enhanced reports of punctuality of buses.
Ibibo will expand these to more buses as There are some 50,000 buses in the semi-luxury and luxury segment in India.
 Each Bus operators have to spend about Rs 5,000-6,000 for the GPS hardware for every bus and they have to pay a regular amount for using this service.
Gobibo.com was founded in 2010 and is usually started  with flights and hotels booking and started growing very fast  to provide each and every service to customers. That will push them to buy RedBus.in by which they attracted more customers volume and transactions get increased after acquiring RedBus.in.
