Google Missed opportunity of Buying WhatsApp

It has been found after Facebook buy WhatsApp that Internet search titan Google reportedly went all out for buying WhatsApp at 19 billion dollars. Google CEO Larry Page went to meet WhatsApp chief Jan Koum last week in a desperate bid to prevent the deal with Facebook.

Page told Koum that Stay Independent and don’t join Facebook as your WhatsApp is biggest threat to Facebook . It seems to be very true also as Facebook craze is lower down due to WhatsApp. But Koum reportedly felt that Facebook would give it more independence and both companies has same profile of bringing closer the people.

Google initially wasn't ready to shell put such a hefty amount of 19 billion dollars but they get ready to pay so as to avoid deal with Facebook. They were even ready to pay even more than 19 billion dollars to avid deal.

Even Facebook announced that WhatsApp will run independently. Although Google has world largest operating system for cellphones i.e. Android but they have good Instant Messaging app although Google has Google Talk on Android since the beginning of OS.But in a bid to take on the likes of WhatsApp, Google replaced Talk with Hangouts in 2013
